3 day course in L1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment and HS&E CSCS Test –

For people who wish to gain a CSCS Labourers card. On successful completion and submission of results for L1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course and CITB Health, safety & environment test, a CSCS Labourers card can be applied for automatically.

Overview:  This three-day program is designed to help those wishing to get a CSCS Labourers Card, meet the requirements in demonstrating their knowledge of site safety through training and testing.

This is a complete package which incorporates the L1 Award Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course and CITB Health, safety & environment test. You can then apply for your CSCS card*

*Successful completion of the L1 Award Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course and CITB Health, safety & environment test completed.

Course Structure:  The Complete package includes –

A QCF L1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course (up to 40 hours guided learning)

CITB Health, safety & environment test (45 minutes)

Information on how to apply for CSCS card

You will need to complete a O-W-E -C.I.C booking form which must include your NINO which will be required for the application of the CSCS Labourers test. You will also need to bring proof of ID to the test centre.

Course information:  Duration – 3 days

Cost:  From £178.00 (includes assessment/registration/certification/refreshments, CITB HS&E Test Fee of £21.00)

You can make an application of CSCS Labourers Card when L1 Award in H&SE and CITB HS&E Operatives Test is completed or in the event of a test re-sit, notification must be provided to us within 90 days of the original training date.

Quick guide – applying for your CSCS Labourer card:

We suggest you follow these 3 easy steps:

  1. You can email a copy of your certificate as part of your CSCS card application to (cscs.team@citb.co.uk)
  2. Have the Pass certificate details of your CITB Health, safety and environment test
  3. Call 0344 994 4777 and pay £30 by credit or debit card or by cheque.

Note: You can apply for a card directly or through your employer, however we also offer an application services.

Entry requirements:  Proof of identity (please request a booking form)

You must have a good understanding of spoken and written English. Please contact us if you have any concerns in this area.

Assessment and exams:  This is a highly interactive course delivered by means of case studies, classroom discussion, learning activities and simulated test practice question.

Qualifications/certification:  On successful completion of the course you receive a Pearson L1 Award H&SE certificate and a CSCS Labourers Card (within ten working days)

Course attendance requirements:  Attendance requirements for Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course:

Delegates are required to attend 7½ hours training, since without full attendance the certificate will not be awarded. Delegates must attend the required hours of training, in accordance with the course programme, to achieve the necessary learning objectives to qualify for the certificate.

If this is not possible the delegate must enrol on a new course and retake the full course.

O-W-E – C.I.C reserves the right to charge an additional sum of to cover costs incurred when switching courses. This will be agreed in advance of the delegate moving course.
