The Training Programme Content
Working hours: 9.30 – 5 pm Monday to Friday (also flexible to suit)
Our trainers/assessors work in small groups of 6-8 to give you the attention you need
The programme is run over 17 weeks and includes:
(1 day) Participants coffee morning. We hold session to introduce the construction environment and our course by using videos and photos of previous sessions, guest speakers and answering any questions.
(2 day) Construction Workplace Culture Awareness Training.
(1 day) Construction Site Visit
(2 day) Construction Career Making Decisions Training.
(4 days) Practice simulated trades skills in interior decorating.
(3 days) Attend the L1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course (up to 40 hours guided learning). Includes booking CSCS test and completing evaluation/feedback form.
(4 days) Complete work experience on a local community project.
(1 day) Stakeholders and participants coffee morning. Discuss the course outcomes. Presentation of Certificate of Achievement. Rebook 2nd test for participants who not passed. Apply for CSCS card for those who have passed cscs test.

We are aiming to target 100 women aged 19+ in 2020-2021.
We partner with housing associations, local trade business and construction companies who could potentially offer learners one week’s work experience; which could effectively lead to employment in the right environment where possible.
Please note: You must complete the 17 weeks training to be offered work placement.
