TRADESWOMEN-LED POP-UP REPAIR CAFÉ: EMPOWERING THE MEDWAY COMMUNITY

Opportunities With Experience (O-W-E) C.I.C are thrilled to announce that our Tradeswomen-Led Pop-Up Repair Café has received funding from the Medway Council UKSPF Feasibility Fund.

This support will enable us to deliver initiatives aimed at fostering and developing pride in place across Medway.
Our Pop-Up Repair Café is a community-focused project based in Medway, led by skilled tradeswomen and Fixers from a range of diverse backgrounds.

The core aim of our Café is to provide local women with the chance to acquire practical repair and DIY skills within a friendly, inclusive environment. Through this, we seek to nurture empowerment, promote sustainability, and strengthen community bonds.
What sets our Repair Café apart is the unique approach we take to learning. In addition to our hands-on Repair Stops, we will host a series of weekly interior decorating sessions. These will cover:
• Basic DIY Fixes
• Building Confidence Using Power Tools
• Revamp & Recycle with Paint

Alongside these practical sessions, our Café will also offer tea, coffee, and a dedicated chat and community corner. This space is designed to support informal learning and networking, enabling participants to connect, share experiences, and build lasting relationships within the community.

The Feasibility Fund will provide funding for feasibility studies to support initial concept and business plan development: seed funding to help get project idea off the ground.
